Fuel tank leak

I posted this on another forum, thought someone here might have the answer to my problem.

I have a leak at the top of the fuel tank module. I know it is not the fuel line to the pump or the return line. I know it is not the roll-over vents as I have a fuel line on each with a small filter up next to the bed of the truck. It only leaks when the tank is topped off and will stop as soon as I drive the truck.

I re-vented the tank when I installed the FASS fuel pump and I re-used the gasket for the module, this was about 2 years ago. I first thought it was the gasket but the leak is too fast for it to be the gasket as it did not leak until recently. The leak has started in the last couple of months.

After looking for a new gasket and studying my repair manual, I see a non-pressurized aux fitting in the top of the module.

Could this aux fitting be where it is leaking? If it is the source of the leak, any suggestions on stopping it?

I have an 03 too and my tank started to seep from the top (only when full, guess it was the slosh). I found a short stubby hose plug on top that had corroded open, hard to see but easy to feel. I stopped by the locale auto parts store and picked up a pack of various vacum line plugs, worked like a charm.

Yes that is what I think is were the leak is coming from. It is idintified as a aux fitting. With out lowering the tank it is hard for me to see it. The tank is full now so that I could locate the leak. Instead of a plug I want to clamp a hose on it if will hold a hose and plug the short piece of hose. Would like to know what size hose I will need and then lower the almost empty tank, not take it of off the truck, so that I can get to it easily.
