Fuel Tank Assembly...

On the weekend I intended on installing a FASS system on my fathers new '99 but to my disappointment I came to find that the supply and return inlets/outlets on the in-tank unit had been modified. Someone at one time must have broken the stock plastic fittings and somehow installed some brass fittings, which is fine. What I didn't like was that the passage through the fitting they used was 3/16" instead of 1/4". So, before dropping the tank to really get a good look at what had been done, I'd like to know my options on fixing it. I know I could try mickey-mousing it to fix it to my likings but I'd much prefer a stock-like unit. This brings me to wondering... I have a stock in-tank unit from an 04 which I removed when I installed an intank pump. It's perfectly fine. I'm wondering if it'll slide into this tank and connect up without any troubles? Any input would be nice.

Thanks,
Mike

Hmm, You could get the draw straw from Vulcan Performance.

If it is these fittings you are talking about, I just replaced them with the Draw Straw:

My old steel ones had rusted through and cracked badly. Didn't want to spend the money on something from the dealer. There is a bit involved in regards to installing it, but nothing hard.

Hopefully this helps,lol.

Vulcan draw straw, easy cheesy and relatively cheap.

Just did my first one, that's how I will fix them in the future as well.
