fuel system question(airdog)
i'm heavily considering the 100GPH airdog system and was wondering what ya'll thought about it and how it would work with the '02 that is in my sig? ...thanks in advance....i looked at fass, but airdog doesn't look much different and for a few dollars over 500 it seemed good to me?....also how much would it take to start pulling hte 100GPH down to dangerous levels? would the adrenaline do that or are we talking serious horsepower? i will be adding a stronger chip later but no plans to get super crazy...

The main thing that steered me away was the ratings of the filters, mainly the water sep is 140 microns, which isn't bad for a gravel trap but is only rated 50% for removal of free water and 0% of emulsified water, and is only rated for 19 GPH on a 100GPH system.

The AD 100 is pretty simple. the 150 requires dropping the tank for the draw straw. And it does come with everything except the fitting for a FP gauge line. I made my own fitting.
I like getting all the old stuff (FF & LP) off the side of the block. The AD wire harness is pretty good too, plug and play. The green wire will throw you off, i just cut it out of the harness. I think it's green, it's for something else.

ya thats most of the reason as to why i went with the 100 was to stay away from dropping the tank and such.....my FP gauge is not currently hooked up so i was going to get fittings and things for it after the install anyway, so that is really no problem.....whats the green wire for? lol and does it tell u where to mount it or is it just put it where you want it?

Would you elaborate on this a little?

Hi Everybody,
Sorry about being off the posts for so long, we have been moving into our new 38,000 sq. ft. building.
About the water separator. The main purpose of the wire screen element is to filter out water and large particulates that could/would jam the gearotor and/or plug and block the incoming fuel flow either of which would shut the system down. Under high flow and high pressure conditions you can force water through anything. (You can cut steel with a water jet) But hold on, the AirDog 2 micron Stratapore filter that fleetguard makes for us is also a water separating media!!! We, PureFlow has had absolutely NO PROBLEMS or ISSUES with the filtration products we acquire from Fleetguard Corporation nor have our customer friends.
One of our class 8 fleet customers reported a phenomenal record of 30 trucks, avg. over 125,000 miles per truck per year, for seven years with ONLY THREE, that's right with only 3 injectors (Total) having failed!! That is what complete fitration with the Fuel Preporator AirDog can do for you. This is the reason I keep the price of our filters reasonable and try to entice all to use them and our dealers to carry them in stock.
That speaks for itself!
Thanks,
Charlie

The link says 3 micron, but the specs are absolute at 5 microns and 94% at 2. This filter isn't rated as a water sep, you can tell just by the part number.. FF for fuel filter, FS for fuel separator. If it were a separator it would also have a way to drain the water. A separator without a drain is scary, because if it fills with water is sends pure water to your motor, you have no way to remove it.
