Fuel Sender Unit
Okay, my stock fuel gauge has been getting worse and worse, and it's starting to give erratic readings. While I don't mind using the trip meter to determine how far I can go between tanks of diesel, I would love to figure this thing out. I have searched the archive with poor results: I would figure a search for "fuel sending unit" would return something useful, but... no dice.
Can someone please direct me to a URL or send me a picture of how one of these fuel sending units works?
Thanks in Advance.
Sean.

ahh, another one bites the dust. try "fuel module".
you can fiddle around with the old one trying to fix it but if you are like me and see the value in your trobles getting at the thing, you will want to put new or reman in.
reman from dealer $125 or so.

yea sean, i just went that route.. i got a remanufactured fuel module from the dealer.. the first dealer i called said they couldnt get them.. yea, right . so the next dealer i called said no problem.. $140.00.. i replaced mine because the two curved steel lines at the top were badly rusted.. the newer ones are plastic.. but just to repair the fuel level sending part of the module is around $40.00 or so.
hope that helped you out some..

Ive got the same problem but I ordered a couple vulcan draw straw 2's so I can lose the rusty lines and upgrade to 1/2" feed. I wont know 100% if this is going to work until I take the cap off the tank and see
