Fuel Pump?

Fuel Pump?
Afternoon Everyone,
My truck will not start,it will turn over. I took the top off of the fuel filter canister and saw that there was about an 1/2" of fuel in the canister. When I had someone try to start the truck, there was no fuel being pumped into the canister. My question is: Does this mean I need a new fuel pump or could it be something else. I had the fuel pump changed about 2 years ago.

Can you hear it pressurizing at start up? If the pump is on your cnister you can hear it pressurize when the key is turned on. If it is in the tank than you might not be able to hear it. If you can hear it it is probably working but since you have no fuel at the canister it is probably not. Mine is acting up as well and is at that 2 yr range since the last time I replaced it.
