? on fuel pump

I am going to be installing either the ad150 or fass150. I have heard and have been told you can run it through the factory fuel filter housing and i have see most people bypass it and go strait to the cp3. Whats better? Are there any down sides or reasons not to run it to the factory filter houseing? Also if you bypass the factory fuel filter housing there looks to be a sensor or something going to the factory housing what happens to that and what do you do with it?

With the FASS or Airdog that has the integral filter units there is no benefit to using the factory filter housing. The factory unit does not filter down as much as the FASS or AD and therefore just provides unneeded restriction. Also, FASS and AD use larger diameter hoses for greater volume.

The factory unit does have a "water in fuel" sensor... water is taken out with a separate filter on FASS or AD.

I suppose the only "advantage" to using the stock filter housing is the fuel heater that is there for those folks in the really cold climates.

I bypassed the filter housing myself and just left the filter housing intact and no further issues occurred by way of thrown codes or anything else. Just follow the included instructions with whichever way you go.
