Usually the lift pump goes out first. You need a fuel pressure gauge very badly.

If you try to run it too long w/bad lift pump it puts too much stress on the injection pump and it gos bad. Lift pump little money-injection pump big money.
The gauges would be a good move.

Rule one, get a FP gauge. Geno's Garage is a good starting point.

Usually the lift pump will go out first, get a FP guage becuse thats how i caught mine before it detroyed the injection pump. A nice alternative to guages is a chip with digital guages. thats gives u performance and monitoring in one package. i have the edge juice w/ attitude. great programmer. lots of power.
