Fuel pressure sending unit repeat failure

I had a fuel pressure gauge installed by the local "diesel guru". An AutoMeter ProComp UltraLite.
Drove 15 miles and the sending unit popped leaking diesel fuel all the way home. Took it back and had another sending unit installed. Drove it 30 miles and the second sending unit popped. Truck has a Holley black lift pump. Fuel pressure displayed by gauge when it worked was 22-25 psi at idle. About 15-17 at WOT. Fuel pressure was tapped into the VP44 at the Schrader valve. I've decided to try the Quad Commander with fuel pressure sending unit for fuel pressure reading. I hope it holds. If not I guess I'll try a mechanical gauge. jd
