Hey guys, where all can you mount a fuel pressure gauge? I know a lot of guys mount them on the pump and canister, but where else would work? Also, could you post a pic if you have them on where you mounted your gauge. I have mine mounted to the CP3 directly, but a bud of mine would like to see what his options are and what they look like. I have the GDP MK 2+ big line kit on my truck, and will be adding a T after the final fuel filter, then a hydraulic line to move the sender off the enigne and down to the fender. This will put the sender below the T, so air will go up and not affect pressure readings, and keeps the sender off the motor for longevity.

Ya, I know. After I re-read my post and realized I sounded like an idiot. I know you knew what I was talking about. Gauge.... Jeeze what a dummy I am. lol. Anyway. Yep, I was tring to see what the options were for location to mount the SENDING unit. Also, the spot that I have mine mounted, which is right on top of the pump, am I going to have vibration issues in the future? Its been there for about a year now?

It is possible that you may have issues... To be safe just add a hose an move the sender to the firewall.

I have had the expensive Autometer stepper motor fuel pressure gauge for over 3 years now with zero problems.

I don't recommend mounting the sender directly to the engine.
I feel that fuel pressure should be monitored between your last fuel filter & the input to the CP3.

I have the Glacier fuel filter kit that mounts on the air horn with the big line kit.
My sender is mounted in the T provided with that kit in the rubber line off the engine.

I have been thinking about getting the Glacier kit for some time now. If I do, I will move the sending unit. I never really cared much for the unit being on top of the pump anyway.

I drilled and tapped the spin-on head on my 2 mic filter. Two years with no sending unit issues.

My FASS system bypasses the stock filter completely. My Autometer Electric Fuel Pressure sending unit is T'd into the fuel line from the FASS to the CP3 about where it goes under the firewall. This is a couple feet from the CP3. Been that way for close to three years now and no issues what so ever.

it may be a dumb place to...but i mounted my sending unit to side of the truck between the wiper fluid resevoir and the fuse box up on top...worked good with the 30 inch fuel line that come with kit from Genos Garage

Thanks guys. Mixed results on the mount to motor. Just thought since it is right at the CP3, it would be where you wanted it. I should really consider moving mine though. Maybe once I get the Glacier.

I mounted my mine on the Cp3 inlet, got a tapped 90' fitting from vulcan. Its been there for 2yrs now. Dont see why it would be a bad place to mount it. All the engine sensors are mounted to the engine. I want to see the fuel pressure @ the inlet of the Cp3.

Very true. A lot of other sensitive equip. is attatched to the motor with no problems. I think I will leave it.

Mine is at the CP3 inlet also. I think Autometer and all the big name gauge companys sending units could handle being mounted to the motor. Think about it they go on race cars, baja trucks, and others, why not a regular ol truck?
