Fuel pressure problem

Hey all. well i just finished putting in my new Dipricol guages( boost, fuel pressure, trans temp). They are by far one of the best guages i have seen and i am very happy with them if anyone is debating on what guage to buy. however i am having a problem with my fuel pressure. i did the install the way the directions said...filled the isolator with coolant up to the first threads and then put the hard line on up to the guage. at idle with the mods in my signature it will hold around 9psi of fuel pressure, and with the Edge on stock setting and the Diablo Predator on the Extreme Stacker flash it will bring the fuel pressure down to about 5psi in 4th gear. and with the Edge on level 5 and the Stacker extreme it will dip below 3psi and then i got out of it.

What i am looking for is if the guage is wrong or i need to fix something, or is my fuel pump that low and i need a good upgrade or something?!. i have been beating on the truck for a while now without the guages and im concerned about how much i could have hurt something or how close i could have come to hurting something.

i dont have a lot done to the truck.... and with the Edge on 5 and the Diablo on extreme the EGT's will get around 1500+ degress with a full run through the top of 4th gear.

Thanks guys!

New lift pump

I see a new lift pump in your future....
I recommend Glacier Diesel.

Nothing wrong with your gauges (I have the same set up).
I just put in my Triple Dog, on the 'extreme' setting I saw my FP dip down to about 2 psi.
Not sure how often I'll run it that hard or a new pump would be next for sure, but hard to hide that kinda thing from the dealer...

I think your readings are normal. Mine was similar, except even lower. Yours is an 05 so you have the in-tank pump and I believe you are producing more fuel pressure than the filter canister mounted pumps on the 03-04.5 trucks.

With Smarty on level 9, mine would dip down to 2 psi or lower too. I think I saw zero once . Anyway those days are history now as I resolved all of my fuel pressure delivery problems with a GDP Walbro 392 Performance pump and remote 2 micron filter kit. I am seeing about 18-19 at idle now with a WOT fp of about 15-16.

You will want to upgrade your fuel pump to something else if you are going to play.
