I need to get a fuel pressure guage... Everyone know that it's important. My questions are: Where can I get a mechanical guage? To run without an isolator?? I look all over the internet and can find the f.p. guage w/ isolator kit, but I am thinking about getting the guage w/ mechanical kit and running that until I can get the $$$ for the whole isolator kit, etc... Do the mechanical guages come with a line, and installation kit, and everything to hook it up??

what are you guys making your lines out of? Like for the guage in the above link?? just some plastic line (like what comes in a boost guage kit) with ferrels and that setup??

i use the plastic line and i didnt bleed anything. fuel still isnt to teh gauge yet but its oh so close but it has read the same readings for 4 weeks now since install

I bought the isspro R6813R from dieselmanor.com for $40 shipped I think. I used 3/16" OD copper covered with .25" ID fuel line for protection. I also used 1/4" npt compression fittings to hook the copper to the gauge and the needle valve. I got everything at Ace. Total for the whole install was well under $100.

I did bleed the line but have read it's not necessary.

Exactly.
Push the smaller plastic line though some 1/4" line to protect it and make it easier to work with.

I prefer the bulk buy it by the foot 1/8" air brake tubing most auto parts carry over the type that is wound in a small coil that comes with most kits.
Finger tight plus one turn of the wrench is plenty for ferrel type fittings, too much and it may leak.

Air in the line is no trouble. I recently replaced the FP gauge in my 3500 for a 'fancier' one. Old gauge was a $6 water pressure gauge.
Got all prepared for fuel to come out on the floor.
Not one drop came out. Old gauge had been in service for over nine years and read exactly the same as the new one.

Check with soem of the Sponsors liek us. Most all of us have complete kits and all th eparts seperately that you might want etc.

By the way a lot of folks tell you not to run an isolator, if you ever get a small leak inside the diesel smell will never go away, not to mention the potential safety concerns. Lots of this "no isolator" talk is because some of the designs just don't work well. Get one of the pancake style and they are 100% accurate and fool proof though.
