Fuel Pressure Gauge

Okay, made my mind up to install a fuel pressure gauge but trying to decide on a mechanical or digital. I have picked out the spot to install it (saw a pic that I can't find anymore of a gauge that was installed in place of the cigarette lighter plug on the dash, it looked sweet).

Any suggestions on make and 15 or 30 psi? I have an 03.

Stock fuel pressure is around 8 psi with a clean filter so a 15 will do but if you have or are looking at a aftermarket fuel pump it willl have a higher psi so a 30 would be better. Mechanical is better in my opinion but thats just me. Hope you make a decision your happy with.

i run Autometer Cobalt gauges, i usually run mechanical gauges but for the fuel pressure i go with an electric operated fuel pressure gauge. when u run the mechanical fuel pressure gauge u should also run a isolator valve which keeps the fuel from coming in the cab.the isolater valve is kinda awkward and is not a clean look, but that is me. hope that helps you

I just installed isspro ev2 gauges this weekend. They are all electric and I couldn't be happier. Mine is mounted right on CP3 and I'm not the least bit worried about vibration killing it.

Get a 30 PSI gauge and be done with it.

I did that on mine. You have to measure very carefully to fit it nicely between the vent and the tab in the back. I used a wooden block screwed to the backside of the panel to use the centering drill.

Here's the backside of the panel. You can see I got too close to the vent. I have the Isspro gauge and it's hard to get the connector on if it's this close. Still turned out looking good though.
