fuel pressure dropped, lift pump or gauge?

Well a few days ago my fuel pressure gauge showed 0 psi while I was driving home, then when i would let off the throttle it would creep back up to abot 2-3psi, then when i touched the throttle it would suck back down to 0 but the truck still seemed to have normal power. So i got it home and haven't driven it much since then. I've got a isspro electric fuel pressure gauge without a snubber so normally it would bounce around between 4 to 7 psi while driving and sometimes down to 2 psi. But now it doesn't bounce and just sits at 0 driving and 2-3 when i let off.

I thought it was maybe my fuel filter cuz its been a while since I changed it so i got a new one and put it in today and no difference, it does the same thing even at idle. Do you think my lift pump is bad or is it the gauge??? I've been checking my oil often because i'm paranoid that the diaphram in the lift pump broke and dumping fuel into my oil, so i've been checking that my oil isn't going up and it hasn't seemed to. I've got a 2nd gen lp and a cheap regulator i got on ebay, just need to get the line, gaskets and spacer then i can put that in, but it might be awhile. What do you think it is? thanks

Since you aren't running a snubber I would not be surprised if you killed the sender.

Go to the auto parts store and get one of those cheap underhood gauges out of the bling section and throw it on and see what you get.
