Fuel Pressure Decrease over Time
Does your fuel pressure decrease over time? I've seen my pumps do this a few times. Currently running a DDRP. When I installed it, it was making 21 strong at idle, couldn't be brought below 15 WOT. Now, sits at 19.5 at idle and can see 14 or so wide open.
Pump before that was a holley blue. New, it made 13 at idle and 10 wide open. It deteriorated to about 9 at idle over time.
Just curious if anyone else sees this occur and it's natural, or if there is something that is causing it. DDRP has about 9 months, 1000 miles on it.

First off a holly blue or any other red or black are cheap made and in my opinion noisey junk. The DDRP is a decent pump and as any other pump age and wear as well as break in could cause a change, How accurate is your guage? Fuel differences will also change pressures. Its working and well with in specs so why worry?

Fuel pressure will be affected by the ambient temperature. How long of a time frame are you talking? Did you change fuel filters? Maybe you have a lot of garbage in the fuel tank.

Yes, I have changed the filters, and I have never seen one come out noticeably dirty. I understand that pumps may break in some, however I notice a gradual decrease in performance and was wondering if that was normal, or if anyone has had a similar problem and what can be done to keep it in check.

You might want to check the pre-screen on the fuel pump. There was a few threads about fuel pressure decreasing with raptors only to find out that the fuel module screen was torn and allowing garbage in the fuel tank to be sucked up and block the fuel pump screen.
