fuel pressure and FASS system

I just put on an FASS system and was wondering how other people have hooked up their fuel pressure gauge to the FASS system. I had my gauge hooked onto the shrader valve on the injection pump, but that is now gone. I know that there is a port on the filter system of the FASS put not sure how to run a line or where to get the necessary equipment. Any information would be helpful.

I put mine right on the FASS.
There is an 1/8" pipe plug right behind the supply line block for the fass.

Farmer Dave, The FASS kit I bought had a "T" that was to be placed just before the VP44, in the 1/2 fuel line, where the FP sender could be plumbed in. I thought all of the kits came with the "T", but not 1/2 inch fuel line.

yz450f, this is a replacement pump for the stock lift pump. Some have plumbed them in as a "pusher" pump, but I see that as complicating things because them you have to maintain 2 pumps, and if the stocker still fails you have to replace it. To me, that kind of defeats the purpose of putting this better pump on. I replaced the stocker with the FASS and never looked back.

Mine didn't come with a T but it had 3/8" line I think. I guess I will have to look into getting a T that I could splice into the line. Thanks for the advice.

I tapped into the fule line near the VP44 with a "T" and used the extra hose from the FASS kit to run my guage off of. I have SPA guages so it may be different than your set up.

With these mods should i worry about not getting enough fuel. I have the edge with 5 levels and high end being 120hp and K&N open cone filter and 4 in pipe where the cat and muffler use to be.

If you have the Edge Comp, you should be concerned. You should have a fuel pressure gauge on it NOW, so you know whether you have a fuel problem or not. I suggest installing at least a fuel pressure gauge, but with an Edge Comp you should also have an Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) gauge, also known as a pyrometer.
With the gauges installed you will be able to assess whether you need a lift pump or not. If you have less than, I think it's 7 PSI, at any time (idle, cruising, WOT), you need a lift pump.

On the EGT's, you want to keep it below 1300 in most cases, a few seconds over 1300 should not hurt anything (running the 1/4 mile). If you are above 1300 for any length of time you need to start looking into how to get more cool air into your engine.

I have gauges, just don't know how to hook up the fuel pressure gauge with the FASS in. I used to have it hooked to the shrader valve.

Just put a barbed "T" in your fuel line...best to be back from the VP about where the fuel filter canister was, to reduce needle vibration. Need a reducer from 3/8" to 1/8" for the line to the gauge and use a needle valve as a shut off/flow controller. Takes VERY little flow through needle valve to get readings on FP....almost shut off completely works for me and protects the gauge from shaking itself to death.

Gauges are sensitive to pump pulses....I prefer hooking gauge fuel line at least 12" from VP and FASS. If you have the gauge...use it. No longer the focus of attention it was but still valuable imput....just in case.
There has been one case of pump brushes failing on a FASS at over 100,000 miles. Gauge probably saved the VP44 from failing.

I have an isolator though. I have a line that screwed right on to the shrader valve and then ran to my isolator. I think that I could put a "T" in but I am not sure were to get one that will work.
