Fuel plate
Will be installing the #10 fuel plate next week or two. I was wondering where the plate should be positioned ? I believe the directions say put it where ur old stock plate was. In the exact same position, but how much of a power jump HP/Torque wise is that gonna give me? Then I here others say that they put their's full forward. This plate is apparentley about 125 HP increase if put full forward ? Is that correct ? I dont want to hurt anything. I have guages and they will go in first. Just wondering where I should place the plate. I dont want to have to do it twice if i dont have to. I have the 98 12 valve with the 215 pump, 5spd manual that I just had rebuilt about 200 miles ago. Upgraded 5th gear nut and a SB CON OFE Clutch upgrade so I'm thinking I should be ok ? Daily driver and I may tow with it occasionally. Thank you in advance.

you can do what you please... putting it full forward will give more power than the stock location, just need to watch the egt's, what i would do is put it full forward, watch the temps, if its too high you can always pull the afc again and adjust it back untill you are happy with it

You'll endup losing power and gaining a lot of heat running a plate full forward on a 215 pump. At or about 18mm of rack travel, pump timing is retarded by 3 or 4 degrees. Just a bit ahead of center will give some awesome power, imo. Every pump is different, though. You will be in and out of that afc a few times to get it right for your driving style. Have fun!

With an unmodified AFC and rack cap, he won't have to worry about excessive rack travel.
And like what was said, you'll be in and out of there several times tuning it. Its 4 6mm screws that hold the AFC on, and another two 6mm screws that hold the plate. Its not a big job by any means.

Full forward is fun, but like they say you have to move the AFC housing full ahead and then tune the zero boost screw out to not over-fuel at the low boost level.
At full forward with stock turbo and FE clutch, put out about 335 RWHP with EGT's around 1300, could get more if I let the EGT's go to the pin. HOT is an understatement..

Correct. The governor rack travels from the rear of the engine toward the front(fan) for increased fuel. Any adjustments to let the lever arm travel to the front allows for more fuel. That being loose spring on the AFC, AFC position, plate position etc etc.
