Fuel plate question

I had a #6 fuel plate put in my truck (auto tranny), slid forward and the star wheel adjusted. I got it back expecting a huge differance. But I only notice a differance when my overdrive kicks in. It is still sluggish when I take off in the first gears. Is this normal?

Well when I had my #8 plate put in it pulls great down low but I need a 3gsk to use the rest of my rpm range. Maybe your afc wasn't adjusted enough...? Was it a TST or a different brand?? Also did you have a boost elbow put in?? Should only affect midrange as far as boost but can help, my truck went from 16psi stock to 30psi unloaded stock. I haven't had any hay to get but I might need to move my friends bobcat apx. 9k total with trailer so we'll see what it can do with a load.

Yeah I had performance authority install it. I don't know what brand they used. A lot of people have said good things about them though. I just thought it would have more power. If I knew how to open the pump up and adjust it myself I would do that.

Their the ones to put my #8 plate in, did they put the custom boost elbow on too?? Bennett and I get along since my truck has been at his shop more than in my driveway... needless to say they have fixed a lot of stuff on my truck and already are putting a lift pump in Tuesday AGAIN but they have always done it right the first time and made sure I was pleased with it. We should meet up sometime I'd like to see the difference in a #6 and a #8, did they do your tranny too??

most noticable at highway speed, keeping in mind i havent pushed mine to hard at lower gears because i dont want to trash my stock AT, and i need to install the gauges first..

but i dont notice to much gain in 1st thru 3rd. in OD it Flies!!
