Fuel Plate differences

I have done a search on fuel plates and have found a bunch of information. What hasn't been found is an explanation of what the difference is between plates. Can anyone post a picture, explain what those differences are, or point me toward an explanation? I'm also curious to know just how they work. It appears that the fuel plate limits forward movement of the governor arm. Is that correct? And if so, how does a GSK affect the defueling point?

I'm as full of questions as a three-year-old, aren't I.

Thanks for any information anyone can provide.
