Have this 06 Mega with 125,000 on it. I bought it with 97,000 on it from an older gentleman that really took care of it.
I have installed a 2 micron fuel filter in line with the factory and have a Smarty jr installed on tow mode.

Last oil change I noticed that the oil level was slightly above the hash marks on the dipstick. So I have been monitoring it for the last two weeks,, two tanks. The level of the oil has risen to the top of the hash marks on the dipstick. I suspect I have an injector seeping fuel. I removed the valve cover this afternoon and ran it and found no fuel leaking from the injector solenoids. I am wondering if I should change the oil again and have some of it analyzed or should I just jump into an injector swap. I really don't have the money to do that,, but who does??

I've been told that F1 injectors are the way to go and feedback seems to point that direction. What do you guys think,, and what did the injector swap through F1 run? Their website says $1100 and one of the dealers says $2500. Not sure where the difference is??
Lots of questions,, I would really appreciate any feedback or advice.

Update....

Had an oil analysis done this morning and it revealed no oil or antifreeze. I did notice that when I did the oil change this morning and took the sample,, the oil filter had very little oil in it. I wonder now if the motor is sucking the oil from the filter and showing an overfill condition. Shouldnt those oil filters have a anti siphon feature?? I know a little oil will siphon back from past oil changes but never htis much???

If you suspect fuel dilution I would have ur oil sampled. That way you will sure if there is an issue or not. HTH

When you checked the oil each time you did let it set for at least 30+ minutes to allow the oil to drain back in to the oil pan? FYI, Letting it sit on level ground for 30+ minutes is the best way for checking the oil.

Yes , Let it set and it draws the oil out of the filter until it has about a 1/3 way up in the filter (2/3 drains out). That has to be the reason for the overfill condition on the dipstick. Now, is that normal for our trucks??? Several have said theirs does it too and they have different ways of dealing with it. Some just put 10 quarts of oil in the motor. That will give you a mid way in the hash marks indication on the dipstick. Some just say Cummins calls for 12 quarts and thats what they put in it. Never mind what the dipstick says.

well, you know its not getting contaminated and you know that you have the right amount once the truck is running. You did not mention anything thing about iol pressure? I would be curious about that? Yes, cummins calls for 12 qts. I just put 12 in and watch it. But I also us amsoil and their bypass filter. What filter are you using? I really dont see a problem your not over full, you are actually right on between the crank case and the oil filter. Makes me wonder if there is an issue with your PVC vavle, have you tried replacing that? You are pulling the oil back from the filter there has to be a reason wether it is wrong or fine? Could not tell you... Mine does not do that... will be watching for the out come though...

had a big truck do that at work. a 96 intl with a dt466 in it, similar to the p-pumps. turned out being a stuck injector. had em rebuilt for $75 a pop.

not saying that im 100% sure thats your problem, but sounds the same... might be worth investigating

When I change my oil, I put 12 quarts in the engine. I fill the filter before installing it. I start the engine and let it run for a few minutes, and shut it down. I wait about one minute, and check the oil level. The oil level is right at the middle of the grid on th dipstick. Now if I check the oil when fueling up after about a half hour drive, the oil level is higher on the grid. My take is two things. More oil drains back into the oil pan because it hot for one. Two, with the oil temperature being about 180 degrees, it expans in volume with the temperatrue. which shows more oil on the stick. Now if I check it in the morning before I start the engine, the oil level in in the middle of the grid, go figure!

yep..... if the oil isnt contaminated, its just a matter of when you are checking it at different times/temps..etc... I'm one of those" dump 12 qts. in and forget about it.. " guys.
As for the filter draining back, nine does NOT do that... or atleast I haven't caught it doing it... I run Cat oil (Mobil) and Fleetguard filters...
