Fuel Mileage

I see people on here talking about 16-17 miles per gallon, and some saying they get 20. My truck is in my sig, and around town, the best I can get is 14 on the highway, the best I can get is 16-17, this is hand calculated. Since adding the EZ the overhead display is off about 2 miles per gallon, but was accurate before that. What could be the problem here with my fuel mileage?

The best thing I found for fuel mileage is..
  • Inflate you tires to about 50-60 PSI
  • Cruise at a slower rate (55 MPH - Yes it boring...)
  • Use some power service or fuel additive every tank.
  • Reduce you loads (weight and size) if you can.
  • Don't drive it like you stole it... (I'm guilty of this once in awhile!)
But it might be a good idea to check and clean the two sensors (IAT/MAP) if you got a exhaust brake. They get really ugly quick...

If I set my cruise for...
  • 65 MPH = 17 MPG
  • 55 MPH = 21 MPG
It up to you...

I agree w/Mopar Man staying around 2,000 rpm's gets much better fuel milage. Good advice.

I get 18.6 mpg running 85 mph. I'm trying to run the speed limit right now to see how good it will get.
