Fuel Milage Questions
I'm thinking about buying a CTD and was thinking about buying a 2nd gen, But then I drove my buddies dads 05 CTD DRW 4X4 with the 6spd and loved it, I'm wondering about milage the 3rd gen DRW get once they get miles on them? His had 53K and I only got 12 with it pulling a 25' stock trailer full of furniture and boxes and a tool box (used it to move with). What do they get when they get broke in and how many miles is broke in? I'd be looking for about the same truck 4X4 6spd 4door drw. Thanks.

04.5 and up don't get as good a mileage as the 03-04 trucks do. Reason is emissions and the 3rd injection event. Pulling, 10-13 is all I can get, Gross weight is around 20,000-21,000 pounds though.

So i'd be better off with an 03-4? What do they get for milage respectivly?? Ball park figures?? I was pulling a 25' stock trailer empty on roads with varing speeds between 55-70 average speed would be around 60-65 and only got 11 with it going up and 12 coming back loaded (which i don't know the weight.) Thanks for the heads up too.

My 03 has 93xxx on it. I really dont know how many miles is concidered broke in. I did change to the factory aluminum wheels and still on the stock bfg's, i think that helped on mileage too.
