fuel injector question

Had my first injector failure (82,000 miles, stock). Wife took it to the dealer and they changed it, checked and cleaned supposedly the rest of them. I am headed out for a 3 month trip to the Southwest and will be many miles from a dealer towing a trailer. What is my chance of further failure? What do you do if an injector fails? Can you generally still drive the truck for a 100 miles or so without hurting the engine? Do they generally fail open or closed?
Thanks for any help.

If it is the electronics, truck wont run.
If cracked tip or body, could cause big problems.

I had #1 fail at 98k or so miles, dealer swapped it out, and now with ~215k, they are getting tired. Pulled them out yesterday and will box them up today for F1.

So, chance of future failure is about the same as your chances were for the first failure, IMHO. If one fails (cracks), and dilutes your oil with fuel, yeah, don't drive it. If it fails (won't fuel), I dunno what damage could/would be done. Very uneven heat. I'd have mine towed if that happened.
