Fuel heater removal on a 96!
Trying to get the fuel heater off after the bowl and prefilter and can't see how...
Haynes merely says 'remove heater assembly'
and the cummins instructions are no real help either though it looks like from the photo that there is a secondary insert that is holding it in.... ????
confused in canada

I just got a reply on TDR saying it's an 8mm allen to unscrew the insert....
serves me right for relying on the haynes
But I'll make sure tomorrow
to be continued....

New fleetguard fuel heater versus stock(I think....)
So I got the fuel heater off and couldn't help but notice how different it looks to the new one....
I can't seem to post the pics but look in my truck gallery... (actually they require 'admin approval' before you can view them )
any thoughts?
The original one says 'made in holland'
And I thought the dutch only made 'heaters' to burn other kinds of organic oils

Never had to install a new heater but have read that the new style is installed upside down in relation to the old style.

I actually just wanted the quad o-ring but cummins western canada didn't have it in stock so I bought the heater as it came with a new gasket
For a 60 cent o-ring they wanted me to pay shipping to them and to me too as I rarely have the time to drive to them(they're 2 1/2 hrs away)....
