Fuel filter housing on '01???

I helped a friend this morning by installing a Vulcan kit (believe it or not, he's seeing 19psi at idle from a stock pump now ... lucky bugger!). Once everything was tightened up and the engine running, we found a leak at the WIF drain valve. He has never opened it before today and now it's leaking from the top, where the lever enters the plastic housing. Is this rebuildable or does he need to purchase a new drain valve? If rebuildable; are the seals something that's available from Home Depot/local hardware store?

piperca,

Before I bought my 02, I had a 2001 and I had a leak at the drain valve on the FF housing. I pulled the valve off and replaced both o-ring's which I bought at a hardware store. I was able to match up the correct size; the store had quite a selection of rubber o-rings. Later I bought a replacement drain valve from the Dodge dealer just to be on the safe side but I never used it. For your info, there are 2 o-rings where the drain valve attaches and another o-ring for the WIF sensor. My 02 has a different drain valve setup than the 01 and so far no leaks with it. According to my 2001 Dodge manual, when you re-install the drain valve, tighten the 4 mounting screws to 3-5 N.m (30-40 inch pounds).

He replaced the o-rings and it's tight as a drum ... thank you!
