Fuel filter change

I have a 3rd gen cummins that i have changed the fuel filter on my rig no problem, but my dad has ask me to change his fuel filter next time i am over, but he has a 2001. Is the procedure the same?

my girlfriend has an 01, and for some odd reason i always end up changing the oil and filters. It is the exact same as my truck, and it actually takes the same fleetguard part number.
