Fuel additive

Fuel additive
I was reading on another post that the new trucks (6.7) do not "like" fuel additives? I have run Howes in all my diesels for years. Just curious as I just added some last night (cold weather again) to my 07.

Most of what I have read about this was the concern for harming the emissions devices, especially the DPF. Not that the engine itself "did not like" the additives.

I don't know if I would be too concerned with that type of additive. Keeping the fuel clean and flowing would be my primary concern too. Throwing in 2 stroke oil or WVO or whatever are a thing of the past with these engines and the emissions controls. I have added my cold weather additives as well.

Just as an update. I called my local dealer and asked the diesel tech his opinion. He said that Howes should not cause any problems. He has not heard from anyone that it has or will. He said Chrysler makes a conditioner for their vehicles, but did not think it was any different from Howes. As far as I understand, don't all new diesels (pickups and semis) have the emission controls on them? I cannot imagine that the over the road truckers have stopped using Howes. Maybe it is just a cummins thing??? Anyway, I have some in my current tank I will let you guys know if I have any problems.
thanks for the information!
