Front Seat cushion replacement

For what it is worth;

Dodge wants $800 for the front seat cushion replacement and this is the sitting portion, not including the seat back. After 394,000+ miles my front seay finally wore out or it sunk to the left towards the door. This was causing cramps in my left leg/hamstring area even after 1-1/2hr trip. I have been searching for a replacement seat cushion and many Dodge dealerships do not carry this part any longer. after market seats were not an option as our seat belts reside inside the seat back.

So for the heck of it, the passenger seat looked very similiar and to my surprise, the bolt patterns were identical. It was simply switching out the passenger cushion for the drivers cushion and only 4 bolts.

Keep this back in your mind if the drivers seat gets too worn out.

Just as simple is to take the cushion off with the four bolts and the seat cover is just held inn place by four plastic clips. Remove the cover and put a piece of 2" memory foam available from craft shops upholstery supply shops etc for just a few bucks. Lay it on top of the existing foam--reinstall cover and you have a more comfortable seat than new !!

Good idea, I went back into town to get some and my butt has never felt better. I have to head to Chicago tomorrow so it will get a real work out for 4.5 hrs.

I did that PLUS an air ride seat base from National seating and my truck rides as good as ANY vehicle i have ever ridden in
I have moved the air ride seat base from my 01 to my 03 to my 06 and when i get another truck i will transfer it again. Best aftermarket accessory i have ever purchased
