Front Ladder Bars/Control Arms

I've seen a few pics of some 1st gens with lifts, that were running front ladder bars/controll arms.. (Hard to call them a control arm with leaf springs.) Curious to see how they are mounting the right side bar to the axle.. The diff housing is a little in the way... Looks like you'd have to pull the right axle shaft, and replace the seal to do it right???
Anything else out there???

we just build drop brackets off the frame and weld brackets to the front axle on chevys and fords, shouldnt be much different for a dodge.

Yea.. That's what I'm looking at.. but there's only.. about 4in between the diff and the end of the axle... I guess I'll have to pull the axle and weld the brackets on.. and replace the seal...

nah, just weld a little, let it cool, weld a little, let it cool, move around on your brackets, weve never burned a seal or warped a axle tube and we've done it on 5 or 6 trucks.

Logan... did you put the bars on a Dodge??? Just curious, because after thinking about the setup... the shackle of the front spring is on the back.. I think on a Chevy they are on the front.. Just thinking that the fixed length of the front portion of the spring (on top of the axle).. and the fixed length of the bar going to the rear. (on the bottom). might actually twist the axle if it moves up and down.. Not good on the U-joints... Just thinking out loud...

all solid axle chevys have the shackle at the rear of the front leaf spring and all fords from 79 and older have the shackle in the back also. WATCH YOUR STEERING!!!!!! if your front end is spongy or gets alot of movement like our pulling trucks do, cause of only running one front leaf spring and the push me pull me steering, it will cause steering kick and bind the suspension. if running multiple leafs, you should be fine. if you was closer i would help you with the set up.
