Unhappy Front end woes.

Just wondering if anyone has had there tierod ends worn out at 100,000 miles. I have a 2001 4x4 with cummings and the tierds have allready worn out. I dont do much offroading so that is not he issue. I did go to one size larger tires but dont think that is problem. At 80,000 mi the sterring gear box stated to leak at 86,000 had to reeplace it because the input shaft almost fell out,(what the dealer said anyway).

Amazing isn't it. It is printed on both doors of my pickup. Maybe his has a factory defect?

I have seen posts of people replacing much more much earlier. So, your results may vary.

I have all of my orginal steering and suspension components. I am looking at a DSS and a 3rd Gen trackbar though.

Inner drag link and an 02 track bar at 40k miles.

At 60k miles it needed another inner drag link and outer tie rod end. At this point I bought new parts and put grease zerks in every fitting and also drilled the lower ball joints.

210k miles I replaced all the steering linkages again plus a new track bar( I was stunned that after 150k miles the track bar was well within spec but changed it anyways since I had bought one).

You know there is something wrong when you can replace all the steering componants and not need a alignment, she was spot on..

I need to get the pitman arm off so I can do the seals and I also ordered a DSS so that should fix things up pretty good.

I must say that the ball joints have been amazing, they have a bit of vertical travel in them but no lateral play at all and are original..
