Front end wandering - Borgeson Intermediate Shaft
Replace my intermediate steering shaft with a Borgeson unit. I couldn't believe the difference. I've been chasing this sloppy steering issues for yrs. This thing really helped. Eliminated "most" of the wandering I've been trying to track down. New Dynatrac ball joints go in next week-end. I was skeptical because I really couldn't feel any play in the shaft but it did help. Once I removed the stock intermediate shaft I was able to play with it and noticed it did in fact have a little wiggle to it in the u-joints. I couldn't feel this when it was in the truck either.
Not sure this will help anyone with our sloppy front ends but in my case replacing the 8yr old steering shaft really helped. Its not perfect but I think
it really helped. Took about 2hrs to install. I tend to to take my time.
My steering gear is a 2yr Redhead unit with the PSC steering brace. Still holding
up and working well.
Hope this ends someone out there.
