front end damage/clip AND any one do body work near Minneapolis?

so i found a nice 05 CTD (16k miles for $15k) near Minneapolis/St.Paul that was hit in the front and read. looks like it needs both fenders, left headlight assy, airbags, and other parts associated with being hit there, plus the box has some damage.

$15k sounds like a REALLY good price to me, but i don't know how much it would take to do the repair work. Has anyone got any advice about body work like that? I'm sure it has a salvage title.

also, anyone do body work near minneapolis and would be interested in taking it on to do the repair work. i'm deployed to iraq now and don't have the time to do the work myself

thanks!

If you're going to pay someone to do the work you'd be better off buying a pickup that doesn't need any work. In the end you'll have the same money's in it.

i'm hoping i can find someone who'll do enough i can get it running safetly and i can just it back to little rock arkansas (current home station)_ then i can do the remaining work like finish and fender work, replace the box and bumper. smaller things like that

i'd love to go buy a new truck, but i've always wanted a diesel and this one i can afford (depending on how much the repair bill comes to that is)

How much damage is under the truck? If the suspionsion is fine i would drive it home the way it is not a big deal.left headlight assy, airbags you should be fine driving it home cut the bag off or tape it up would not bother with the headlight till i got it home same for the fenders just beat them out if needed. Check around the condencer for damage and raditator for crack ears that hold it in place if the tanks are gitter done.

hopefully it's not too bad

If you can, take it to get an estimate. Let them know you'll be paying for it yourself, not with insurance, because the prices will be quite a bit different (in your favor). Then you'll know if its worth it. If its just body panels and light assemblies its not a big deal. But if there is frame damage, or damage to engine, drivetrain and suspension components it may not be worth it. Good luck!

If both air bags went off the inside of the pickup is going to be filled with powder and stink. Also it is illegal to drive an airbag equipped vehicle on the road without the airbag or with the airbag disassembled.
