I have been deciding what to do about the bottoming out of my truck. I replaced the track bar with a thuren adjustable. As far as I can tell it's installed correctely but the frame end mounting bolt scrapes the differential cover when the front end dips from a bump.

I guess the coils are weak? I was thinking about installing new coils from coil spring speacialties that are 2" longer. At the same time I see those metal leveling spacers and wonder if that is the way to go. I would also be installing new bilsteins up front at the same time.

Any input? Thanks..

See my "048" spring post below, personally I wouldn't go with the spacers, because it doesn't solve the real problem-inadequate springs. If you add spacers you are just lifting the truck back up, new coils properly support the load and give a better ride

Call Thuren and ask his opinion. He'll recommend his or Carli's depending on your application.

you should better go with new coils in my opinion; if your coils are sag, adding a spacer cant solve your problem, you 'll have sag coils w a spacer nothing better. you can look at Skyjacker D25, KORE leveling COILs+shocks, Lorenz Ind. http://lorenzindustries.com/index.html, Carli or CSS

I went with custom springs from Coil Spring Specialties. IMHO they look way better then the D25's and the ride is to my specs.

I put in D25's, I'm sure there are better springs but these were priced right and a lot cheaper the springs from the dealer. I plow snow and didn't have a plow prep package and killed the stockers I think they were 038 037. So far the skyjackers are holding up well to the weight.

Thanks everyone for your help. I thought the same about spacers not fixing the problem but wanted to ask those who had replaced weak springs just to be sure.

Now with this info I will look into which springs to get and prices.

i went with a carli starter kit and wow the thing rides so much better i have never once regret spending the money one of the best mods forsure.
