The u-joint's only 25 bucks or so. You might want to change ball joints while you're there. Shawn

How many miles? Change the ball joints and the wheel bearing otherwise you'll have to do it after you reassemble it and drive it. The wheel beardings don't like being disturbed after they have been set and the result will be a failure. And while you're at it have the rotors trued up. I tore mine apart last june for a ball joint and one bad bearing then found a failing u-joint. This is not going to be an inexpensive fix but will save you later on as the Napa wheel bearings are better than stock and the ball joints are greasible as are the u-joints. All parts will run you about 500 bucks so find a ball joint press and do it yourself. FWIW, the truck drove like brand new when it was finished and still does.

I agree now is a good time to do some other repairs if needed like ball joints, rotors, and/or the hub and bearing assembly. If they are fine now I would not worry about it.

The hub/bearing assembly is a unit and cost over $200. If it is tight there is no need to replace it now.

These U-joiunts will run a little more than $25. Expect to pay around $45 at NAPA. I bought the HD Spicer U-Joints and they set me back close to $70 each.
