I just bought a 97' 2500 x-cab longed that's in need of some u joints up front, I have new rotors to install & will do the brakes as well, just wondering if theres any tricks that may make it easier before I tear into it, the truck is obviously a 4x4 with a 5spd. & has 254,000 miles, runs really good just had some minor issues with the front end (brakes, ujoint, rotors, & possibly calipers?) for the $ it seems like a good catch, just curious about the u joints before I start into this thing, thanks in advance, Dusty

Put the truck into 4 wd before you pull it apart, that will keep the CAD collar from falling out of place. The rest is easy, press them out and back in. Use the "socket trick" to get your hubs out without destroying the axle unit bearings---they are pricey!! You will have to "remove" the wheel studs to separate the rotor from the hub. Loosen the big 1-11/16 axle nut before you start, DO NOT REMOVE IT, just loosen it.
