fron main or maybe pan

front main or maybe pan

Im thinkin my front main is out im gettin oil from the front of the pan but cant get my fat fingers any further than the corner of the pan and the pulley so could it be the pan. but i was tryin to see how diffuclt of a project this is and how much time it takes because i dont really have any. and what a shop would usually charge. thanks

I think Monty or somebody had an issue with his thrust bearing and needed to replace it. Is yours the 5 spd? Sometimes the clutch pushing against the flex plate causes the thrust bearing to ware faster. Just something to check while tinkering in ther, use a pry bare against the balancer and se if you have much play.

Question

Do you have a five speed? If so and your truck is pushing 200,000 miles you might want to the thrust bearing.My cousin just did a 92 put a clutch in it and notice qoite a bit of end play in the crank,plus front seal was leaking.
