? on free spin hubs and stock wheels
Has anyone done a free spin hub conversion and kept the stock wheels? If so what do you do about the center cap and the locking hub?

Spyntec hubs
I have done the Spyntec conversion on my 05 2500. The kit was awesome its a sweet set up that only takes about and afternoon to do. I highly recomend it, i picked up 2mpg and lost some driveline vibrations.

Spyntec hubs
I tried to post pictures of my hubs but im not good with this computer thing. When you drill the hole through the factory centercap use a 4 1/2in hole saw and use it in reverse that way the hole saw does not rip the crome film off of your centercap.

I have done it and yes, the Waren hubs do stick out beyond the stock wheel cap about 1.25 inches. There are plenty of picks if you do a search. It kind of bothered me for a while. I was afraid of knocking off fire plugs and such. Actually a tall curb could mess you up with stock wheels and tires. The benefits of the hubs far outweigh the sticking out issue and now I think they look cool as most 4x4's have no hubs. I catch people in other 4x4's looking at them going down the road. If you get aftermarket wheels 10inches wide or larger tires you won't notice them. I used a Dremel tool to make the hole and it worked just fine. All the claims people make about the hubs I found to be true. If you plan on keeping the truck a long time and are on the highway more that in 4x4 it's a go on them. I noticed a reduction in noise and vibes, but I have Michelin MS2's and with a big noisy tire it might not be noticeable.
