On the early 24v's, there is two brass plugs in the top of the fuel filter. Take the front most plug out, and hook your FP gauge into that. 1/8" NPT. If you're using a mechanical gauge, get a needle valve to reduce the pulsations, as well as a shut off in case of a leak.

yup.......-2 NPT (1/8th") to 1/4" JIC = good to go. the ones closest to the center are post filter the ones to the outter edge are prefilter. you want post filter reading. or even better tap the fitting at the VP$$ inlet for the most accurate readings.

I'm not sure where the '01-'02 trucks have test ports.........BTW I do not run my guage to either of these fittings. these are just auxilliary test ports. my 1/2" lines and fittings take up the whole top of the filter housing, I have to moniter in the VP inlet. I should get a picture, I NPT tapped the fitting at my VP, and put a remote needle valve in the guage line. its like an octopus with all the big fuel lines.

heres my current setup...........the 1/2" JIC swivel on the inlet of myVP is more than big enough to tap for the 1/8" NPT to the guage. you can use the schrader port. but I like mine because I see exactly what pressure is entering my VP44 at the immediate entrance to the pump no guess work, no pressure drop, no restrictions.
