FP gauge using Rod's fuel line
I'm attempting to hook up my FP gauge using Rod's stainless fuel line between the filter housing and the gauge. Problem is, I can't get the connections at the end of the line to seal up. The connection after the needle valve (leaks like a civ), and the connection at the gauge itself both leak. I used thread tape on all connections, the connections between the filter housing and needle valve are dry as a bone, just the line connnections are giving me problems.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.
Russ

The only time you should use PTFE tape of any other compound is on NPT (National Pipe Thread) connections.

Don't use the tape. Little pieces can come off and get into your VP-- that's bad.
Use either the thread sealant in the little tube, or just go without. On AN fittings, I wouldn't use anything. ON NPT, use the sealant. I never use the tape-- it sucks.

Re:FP gauge using Rod's fuel line
I spoke with Rod, it seems I'm missing an adapter fitting on one end and the other end we're not sure, probably operator error on my part. Hopefully I'll be able to work it out after work tonight.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Si senor. BUT, it was from an actual connection point, the fitting itself was bad. Not the part that actually screwed together. I'm headed to Wally World right now to ship you your MO. Sorry for taking so long.

Re:FP gauge using Rod's fuel line
One of the only things that will make an AN fitting leak is overtightening, (a personal problem I have). If it has been overtightened, it will need to be replaced.
Dad always said "If tight is good...really tight is better"
Maybe someday we'll both learn.
