I found some 16x7" 8 lug aluminum ford wheels that came off a 97 F20. I believe they are the alcoas, but I havn't received any pics yet. The price is pretty good, so my question is will they clear the rear brake drum and what is the backspacing on these wheels?
I would appreciate it if anyone running these wheels on a 2nd gen would post pics as I have searched the forums and only found pics of these wheels on a few 1st gens.

I am not sure but i think that ford bolt pattern is metric and will not bolt up, thats the first thing you should check out.

Yes Mopar, youre right. But I believe the 97 and older Superdutys had the same 8x6.5 bolt pattern we have on our trucks.

Technically, the only Superduties that were before 99 were a 10-lug dually chassis cab setupd, 2wd only. Solid front axle though.

Anyhow, 97 and older Fords do have the 8x6.5" bolt pattern, and there are several guys who run those wheels. I'm sure if you search you will find your answer on here. I know MDKRam was running them on his '97.

'99 and up are metric 8 on 170mm '98 and down are 8 on 6.5"

Technically Ford didn't make a full size truck in '98, so it would be '97 and down. I've got a set of ford alcoas on my w250, can't go wrong with a wheel that has a ~3500lb load rating!

They did, they made the F-150's and the F-250 LD, which is the same as the F-150 7700 package. Those goofy 7-bolt wheels. There was no real 3/4 or 1-ton trucks in the 98 MY though.
