Had one of my fog lights broke by a stone. I went to the dealer to get a price $100.00 plus tax. I had to ask him if he was on something that is robbery with out the gun. Dose any body make a fog light for the Ram at a reasonable price.

Same thing happened to me, but it was closer to $150. I went to a local aftermarket parts place here in AR called Mid-State Aftermarket Body PArts or something like that. Called them up and said they would sell it for $72 and change. Needless to say, I bought it.

I got mine from headlightswholesale. It shipped quickly, and once installed I couldn't tell the difference from the stock one. It even came with a bulb, and didn't need to be adjusted.

Afterwards, I put some Stonguard on both, and haven't broke another one.

I work at an auto salvage yard , ill check and see at work tomorrow what we have and get you a price, hopefully quite a bit cheaper than the $100....

Thats a pretty good deal for buying 1 light, ill see if I can beat it, but I doubt it for a nice new light....

What is this stronguard you are talking about? I spend a lot of time on the highways and always getting rocks, wood chips, deer and small children thrown at me. :P

Stonguard is a clear adhesive backed thick vinyl, and various places sell precut pieces to protect headlights, and thinner stuff to protect paint. I think it's made by 3M.

Sounds like Scotch Cal. Good stuff. Used on the leading edge of jet plane wings to reduce etching from the jet blast throwing small particles of sand while following each other down the tarmac. I have it also on the front edge of my dually fenders and on the running board. It does yellow a bit with age so not good on white - - grrrrr. Lots of fancy cars using it across the front of the hood and fenders to prevent chipping of the paint.

I scrolled through some old threads, and found that I apparently ordered the precut foglight protection kit for like $10 from www.stonguard.com, but now when you go to the site they only seem to list a protection kit for the paint on the front of the fenders, hood, and what not... I can't find anything for foglight protection.

I put stoneguard on mine when it was new.
It's still on there with no problems.
Well worth the money.

Did the lights come with the mounting brackets? For example if on doesn't have factory fog lights, will the bolt into place? Worry about the wiring later.

Yes, it comes with moulded arms to be a direct bolt-on and plug in replacement.

The only difference I can see from the factory unit is that it doesn't say Hella on it, and the shape of the webbing on the back of the unit.

If you didn't have factory fog lights, though, it would probably be better to get a fog light kit. If you bought two replacement lights you would still need bolts, wiring/switch, and the little buckets that replace the plastic looking grille things that come on trucks w/o fog lights...

I found a link on their website that sells headlight kits, Ill call them and see if they sell it for fog lights too. Was $80 for a headlight kit....sheesh

Well, I have this waiting to go on my '07 megacab when it arrives.


It is designed to retrofit the factory foglights. Bolts are pretty easy to find that match up at nearly any hardware store. I can get the 9005 bulb pigtails at NAPA (Fogzilla mod) so wiring harness is unnecessary - I'll build my own with a relay and switch so I control when they're on. So, all i need is the lights.

BTW, are these trucks a two, or four bulb system in the headlights? 9005 bulbs for all?

Two things.

The first is go buy a retro fit foglight kit from DC. You can get the complete kit which includes TWO foglights and misc. pieces for only a few $$ more than they want for just a replacement light. That way you have an extra light sitting on the shelf.

And the second is, what is that bumper thingie in last post? That thing belong on a truck?

I may have to redo my sig too include cattle guard front bumpers.
