Fog light switch

Can a 99 and up(the kind you pull) fog light switch work in a 98? Also how hard would it be to wire foglights up to it?

Without looking at mounts, I see no reason you could not. Have to add a wire into harness also. Personally I would wire separate switch and not fool with it. There are some aftermarket lights that fit well. Just look.

I don't know if it will help, but here is how a 98 looks:

I know that the wiring is there from the factory, just find the switch and panel from a bone yard add lights to the bumper and go!

Yes I do this for a fact because that's what i did.

xzaq, I think you're talking about the switch that is the end of the blinker stalk and you pull out (toward the door) on it. Is that the one?

If it is, I would highly recommend that you consider another option. Replacing the blinker stalk is a ~$125 proposition. If that's not enough to turn you off, I'd also offer to you that the failure rate of that switch on the end is pretty high overall. So you'd be looking at spending a lot of $$ for a known weak part. When the one in my daily driver (PT Cruiser) failed, I just pulled the fuse and let it go.

Good luck to you either way you go.

My 99 has it incorprated into the on dash light switch. twist **** for lights, pull **** for fogs and an indicator lights up to show fogs are on. If that is what you mean I think it would fit but I don't know what harness plug you have and if it will work. If your junk diving just make sure you clip the plug off also and you should be fine. I didn't see a relay on mine but I was planning on wringing out the wires anyway. I bought some new relays and I'm going to heavy gauge wire from bat to relay to lights, hopefully I'll get a few more candles that way.
