I don't know if they make one for the 6.7 yet. It basically takes out the harmonic vibrations out of the rotating assembly. I don't think it'll give that much extra power, but it'll help keep your motor happy for a long time.

They claim 45 hp. I am not sure if it does, didnt have a baseline to tryout, but IMHO it is definately worth the money

Cool thank you for the info guys

They dont claim 70hp, or 45hp. Fluidampr claims 4-5 hp on an other wise stock truck.
I have one on my truck and its great. A must for the modifcation list.
The 6.7L has a silicon filled stock damper so a Fluidampr is not needed in my opinion.

is it fairly difficult to change? i would think so seeing as how it is pretty tight just to get a new belt on

Its easy to change,, but the belt can be a bit tough. On the box that mine come in it said up to 45hp gain,,,, but I cant say that it is true, or not true

how much is a stock 6.7L dampener???
and how much is a Fluid dampener aftermarket??
maybe a stock 6.7L dampener would be a cheaper alternative with the same results????
what do you guys think????

Doubt it. Just get the fluid damper. The new 6.7L damper is big and will probably run big money.

Along the lines of dampners, is there an underdrive pully system for the power steering, that anyone has seen???
My truck seems to resest having the wheels turned while at idle. It's fine if I start to move, but sitting as in a parking lot, it seems to bog down some.
Thank you Thank you once again for the info, keep it coming guys

it's rubber...the fluid style absorbs more vibrations then rubber.

im familliar w/ how they work. i have used them on my race cars in the past. but, they are not benificial to a stock motor unless the factory unit isnt doing its job. i have seen plenty of stock cummins motors go several hundred thousansds of miles w/ the stock damper so i doubt they dont work well.
that being said, if you are making ALOT more power over stock or if you have changed the physics of the motor (bore, stroke, rod ratio, etc.) than the stock damper may not work as well because thats not what it was designed for so an aftermarket damper would be the way to go, but i would stay away from fluidampr and go w/ an ATI.

How do they know it works great? Just curious what engine or drive train parameters are monitored to determine effectiveness? I wouldn't know what to look for, maybe it just seems to run a bit smoother? Thanks.

With my setup minus Fluidampr it used to sound like the tranny was going to vibrate out of its home when I didnt match rpm's in 5th gear.
I installed the Fluidampr about 2 years back and it cut the tranny vibes down by about 75%....
Night and day difference in vibration reduction in my transmission.....it has to be making life better in my engine.

I will eventually be putting one on my truck, but not for a while. Got a long list of mods to do first :)
