Floor It Diesel

Just wanted to take a minute and publicly thank John for the time and effort he has put into my truck to make it right. We have been fighting tranny problems for a while - not John's fault mind you - and I just picked it up yesterday and I couldn't be happier. It performs EXACTLY like I expected and wanted. NO issues with when or how it shifts at all. He has gone out of his way to deal with problems that he was not responsible for just to make sure that I was 100% satisfied with my truck.

Thanks a bunch John!

He got my disaster of a transmission straightened out, he was in no way obligated to but took mercy on my situation, completely went through it, new clutches steels and bands as well as a bilet output. and now it is shifting right and I know that it has the right internal components to hold up for me.

Worth the wait? I've waited five days and counting with no return call. Sorry, but I've taken my business elsewhere. How long would it have taken to pick up the phone and make a call? Especially when your voice mail message adamently states that you will return said call. I don't doubt that his customer service can be great, but don't forget about the little things like answering your phone!

I've been to John's shop many times and have seen what goes on there. He is usually still working at 8 or 9pm and works 7 days a week a lot. I went down Sunday to pick up my truck and he was installing a VB on a truck. On Sunday in the hour I was there, the phone rang several times. During the week, it doesn't stop ringing. The guy has to work on trucks and sleep sometime. He is moving into a new bigger shop in the next few months and will be staffed with himself, a full time wrencher, a part time wrencher, and a full time office person. Until just recently he's been a one man show and now has a new guy he just hired. He has been having serious growing pains the past year and now finally has the opportunity to do the growing. I think over the next year, Floor It will become one of the better shops around to work with on EVERY level.

If I wanted a brand new dodge with all the options exactly how I wanted it. I would place my order and wait. I'm not gonna switch to a ford just cuz they have one thats close to what I want cuz I don't want to wait.

Besides a buisness should never sacrifice a promise to a current customer to satisfy the desires of a potential one. One in the hand is worth 2 n the bush or somethin er other.

making call backs are sometimes tough when you are busy & short handed
especially in this diesel business seems like lots of people just want to tap you for info with no intent on doing business !

I suggested to another vendor on this site that does a ton of business not only from DTR members but also a few other sites as well

that if he is busy and unable to answer the phone to at least leave a message on his voice mail that he will be returning all calls on such and such day at or between such and such time

and that if you are interested in a tech question or want to buy any parts or make an appointment for a repair or mod

tell the customer to email their question or leave info on what they need or want along with a tel # and you will get back to them on the specific day or time either email or by tel call back.

seems like it would be easy way to handle massive volume of calls
cost effective, good time management , & easy customer service for the busy successful self employed owner operator of a diesel high performance shop

All that sounds good in all but one guy working on pumps, same guy rebuilding trans, same guy dynoing trucks, same guy wrenching on trucks, same guy who has a family. Get what I am saying he is very busy. I have been there a few months ago trying to get some dyno tuning done when the phone did not stop ringing at all (8 plus hours)!!! I mean how can a guy do everything at once? He can't and when he gets into the new building he will be a bit more staffed and will be to help a little more.

no question

but people want to talk to the man direct , not some office staffer

let people know what day and what time they can expect back a call or email response instead of just leaving people hanging wondering if or even when they might hear back

or just leave message saying I dont return my calls , but if you like , you can keep trying to get a hold of me & if you dont like it stop calling & just go elsewhere

very simple process seems cut & dry ........ just cut to the chase man

you either want to get back to customers or you dont

let people know..... thats what answer machines were designed to do, give a message to your customers & take messages so you can return calls

I am sure john knows his stuff , so it just sounds like if you need his expertise you play the try and get a hold of him game & chase until you finally get tired of trying or your lucky to catch him at the right time.
