I've had problems with the a/c in my 2003 quadcab since I bought it. The evaporator would freeze up after about 1/2 an hour and the passenger side has always been much warmer than the driver side. The straw that broke the camels back was the recirculation door breaking and cutting off all air flow. After reading all of the post I could find on fixing our a/c systems I ordered the following parts from Freedom Dodge in Lexington, KY.

Parts and shipping ran about $700 and in hindsight I probably didn't need the evaporator temp. sensor which was $26.00. Threads I have read indicated that a new sensor should be used but I saw no reason to replace it. I had the new one so I used it, but I put it closer to the inlet line so it would get a better reading of actual temps. My defrost door and evaporator were ok but I didn't want to mess with any of this again so I replaced them to be safe. The job wasn't too bad. It took about a day to get everything done. The only problem I ran into was the brake light switch. When I lowered the steering column it came apart. Special precaution must be taken to keep the switch from over extending when the column is lowered. The switch cannot be reinstalled after removal so special care must be taken. The part number was 5083344AA and the price was $10. A $125 R134 recharge and the a/c was 10 times better than it has ever been.

I can't say enough positive things about the service I have recieved from Freedom Dodge. Chris, the Internet part guy always followed up with me promptly and he ships stuff very fast. Of course their prices are low too. It's too bad all dealers don't have the same commitment to customer service.
