what is this fitting on the ip?

like the title says. my last pump did not have this fitting or i just did not notice it.

That is a shrader type valve that the dealer(or anybody for that matter) uses to test fuel pressure.

so then what you are saying is that i can tap into that for my fuel presure gauge?

If you get an adapter, yes. Some people prefer to leave it alone and tap elsewhere, so there is still a diagnostic point for troubleshooting. I replaced mine with various fittings, and have a low pressure light and my excess fuel bypass line from there.
