First tow with guages
This weekend I got the opportnity to take are fifth wheel out for some camping. It is the first time, since I installed all my guages that I towed it, and I was worried what the numbers were going to be.
On interstate 44 through the hills in Eureka Mo. I stayed between 65-70 mph, I never got over 1000* egt's. Average egts on free way was about 850. When driving on the hills in the backroads at 50-55 mph I cracked 1050* egt's. Fuel pressure never went below 10.5 pounds, and boost well, it was just up and down like normal.
My water temp stayed at 185* all day. I averaged 13.3 MPG for the trip and I was driving on the hills pretty hard.
When I filled it up, I weighed it all at with the following results:
steer axle 4,020 pounds
drive axle 4,660 pounds
trailer axle 7,700 pounds
total weight 16,380 pounds
I hate thinking this but, I wish my clutch would go out so I could by new injectors, my egt's are just too low.
