so you just want a fast, fun daily driver? thats all i have here. biggest thing i ever hauled is garbage and a couch once. put some big exaust and you will feel bigger nd faster. and read up on how to tweak the pump on there and you will get all you need for next to no money

great ideas! thats exactly how i came to do the TST kit, im not to comfortable tearing into the pump myself to much, as if i break something im skrewed! i have payments on this rig.

The truck has a 3000 RPM redline.. i wonder how safe it is to go higher or even be in that range..

i read a larger exhaust may not get me anything but sound at my current power levels.. hmm

i would think that a 3 or 4 k GSK would be in the danger zone..
soo much to research heh
thanks!!

i was scared to go into the pump too, but if you read some of the right ups and have a good afternoon to do it, lots can be done very easily. I have the fuel plate in the middle, maybea bit forawrd and the afc housing at the front. I havent messed around with the star wheel yet (I dont quite know what it does yet)
the exaust does just make a bunch more noise for me too, but egt`s are lower at the same time. and its not really that loud unless I am on the throttle. I think a water/meth kit would help everything. I just want a reliable strong 350-400 horse as well. seems like thats all you are looking for.

A tighter torque converter should be used! Do you know what is in it?
Do the 3k gov. spring!!! You will love it. That motor should be safe to 3500

Tst has some good gauge instructions on their page

I don't know much about a 12v, but the star wheel has something to do with adjusting low boost fueling

Yea, it does. Mine smokes good before the turbo spools so I think its got enough fuel already.

The star wheel affects when you first take off from a sitting start, low boost you can make it smoke a lot or very little you just turn it in so it goes towards the cab and that will make more smoke and vice versa. I have a #8 plate and I can't get over 1100* and 31psi maxed. A friend has a #6 and he isn't close to 1300* either so you should be fine.

on the govornor thing, you dont have problems until higher than 3k

3200-3300 valve float- just get heavy duty springs(easy install)
4100- tortional forces begin to tear engine apart ( fluiddampner helps alot)
5100- too much torque for the connecting rods and you throw a rod ( your on your own)

i dont remember where i found this, but it was from a diesel shop.
