first gear hesitation or stumble

first gear hesitation or stumble
Have a 2003 3500 diesel 2wd auto, when I first start it ,put it in drive and go the engine will hesitate or stumble before it shifts into second. After it shifts it runs fine in all other gears and will shift from first to second fine if you stop and go again, but shut the truck off and crank it again and it will do the same thing on the initial shift from first to second.have tried different throttle positions at start to see if it makes a difference but doesn't seem to.1/2 ,3/4 or full throttle it does the same. The only code is a p0700 trans code.Anybody had this before, dont see why it only does it on initial shift and not every time.Would really appreciate help, have learned alot reading the other threads but have never seen this problem.Thanx.

Read TSB may apply to your problem
Need to pull code in JTEC (trans controller) P0700 code is telling you trans code is present inthat module.

Also check if recall C-42 was done, if any corrosion on PCM connectors is found wiring harness and PCM will need to be replaced. Fix was to install O-rings on the connectors at the PCM.

yeah I saw the connector thing on another thread so I ckecked that already and it all looks good.Truck just kinda falls on it face 4 or 5 seconds, kinda like the old dead pedal problem, but seems like the trans. is causing it.
thanx for the reply

Pull the trans pan check the bands for proper adjustment. Check for any metal or clutch material in pan. Check kick down cable for proper adjustment. Pull the code in the trans module may be the answer to your problem.
