Firestone Destinations 285x70x17 AT

Has anyone tried these? How do they hold up?

Looking at the website I am not sure if they are E rated.

They are D load range. My friend has them on his dually and will probably end up getting around 25-30K miles out of them.Good smooth and quiet ride.

Nitto,Toyo and Hankook are a few that make that size in an E load range.I'm running the Nitto terra's in that size but don't have near enough miles on them to give you any good feedback.

I spoke to the tire rep and he said that they used to make a 4 ply and 8 ply buy they disontinued the 8 ply and now make a 10 ply or E rated version.

Will 315's fit a stock 2005 4x4? What is the largest A/T tire that will fit?

Yes, 315s will fit, but they rub on the lower radius arm at full steering lock (when mounted on stock wheels). I ran 315s on my 04.5 for a while, and ended up going to a 285/75/17 Toyo AT (stock wheels, no rub). I believe the 315s are best matched with a set of the H2 hummer wheels, the backspacing allows for a better fit.

I was looking at the Firestone Transforce At and that is a 10 ply. My friend runs them, good wear and good in the snow. They look a little plain, but if they last 50-60 thousand I not going to complain!!

Maybe they have gone to a 10 ply now.I know for a fact that my friends are a D load range. They were purchased over 2 years ago and looking at the Firestone website it still shows that size as a D.It would be nice if they would switch the Destination mt's to an E(285/70/17),thats a sharp looking tread.

+1 The destinations are for a half ton truck. Transforce is for 3/4 or 1 ton.
