FireRing? ORing? Stock?
I am putting a 2007 head on my 03, and I was really considering Oringing the head. I cannot do a whole firering because I am NOT going to pull the block. A few people have told me that with the 625's or H11's and the O ring I can hold 100#'s of boost?? I Can just get the 625's and use the stock MLS gasket? If I O ring the head, then I have to use the 99-02 Gasket? Any advice? What are the issue as far as constant re-torque? Actual safe boost levels?

Tim has the regular studs on his 06, I have the same setup on my truck, o-ringed with regular studs. I am not sure but he probably seen about 80 or so psi on that truck. I am maxing out in the low 60's right now because my clutch is slipping and I can't load it enough to get more boost but I should be about 70 or so psi once I get the clutch fixed. His '04 has the same o-ring but it has the 625 studs and has made over 100 psi. He (Tim Barber) has definitely got the o-ringing figured out, it flat out works and holds very very well. Jay

depends on who you talk to some shops dont like to install orings on a street truck while some say its a must. schieds says the stock head gasket is good to 100psi with studs. and i have seen a more then a few pullers only using a stock head gasket with no o-rings.
